A Dream Come True

For 17 years the Members of St. Sharbel Maronite Mission have desired to have a church home to call our own. To have facilities to help us serve, love, and grow. On February 25th we signed a contract to purchase 18768 Jefferson Hwy. with a large sanctuary space, a large hall, a kitchen, bathrooms, classrooms, and a parking lot. We could use the property within weeks of purchase. Imagine praying together, kids’ classes, shared meals, and community outreach in a place to call our own. This property will also be a home base and a rallying cry as we serve parishioners across the state

Together we can raise $485,000 to pay for our new home. Together we can raise $5,000 in monthly pledges so we can guarantee the stability of our mission. Together we can reach our decades long goal for our parents, for ourselves, and for our children.
This weekend Bishop Elias Zaidan reminded us, “we are called to give equal sacrifice, not equal gift.” Each donation and each donor matter. God hears each prayer for this project and each prayer for our mission to proclaim His love in Louisiana. God sees each act of love, each gift of time, each  minute of service.
May the prayers of St. Sharbel be with you, and may you know more each day how deeply God loves you.

As of March 24 we have raised $104,765 with 40 donors

With this space we will be able to host events, classes, services, meals, tutoring, weddings, funerals, baptisms, parties, and more for those in our parish and for the greater community.
